De hecho, antes de que comenzara todo esto los acertados comentarios de algún colega me pusieron a dudar sobre la amplitud de ventaja del 'Team USA' sobre España.

Lo que sí voy a destacar es la importancia de Kobe Bryant dentro del equipo estadounidense. Kobe fue el eje, el motor, la bujía, el dínamo. No... No lo hizo todo él solo, pero sí lo hizo posible.
Sin Kobe en ese quinteto, la historia hubiera sido muy diferente.
Kobe es un líder natural y en esta ocasión, muy distinta a su final con los Lakers, tuvo a su disposición a grandes figuras individuales que logró comandar y hacerlas jugar en equipo, concepto que no se le había hecho posible a los Estados Unidos en los dos últimos Olímpicos.
Sin Kobe Estados Unidos no ganaba oro y hubiera sufrido duramente por la plata.
Esa fue la gran característica: Kobe. Esta vez Estados Unidos sí fue un equipo y pudo saldar sus deudas con el estilo de juego de torneos internacionales, el cual difiere en ciertos aspectos con el de la NBA.
No soy experto en baloncesto y por lo dicho no voy a entrar en detalles del sistema de juego y esos tecnicismos, pero fue evidente que en este equipo nadie fue a lo suyo y todos fueron a lo de todos.
Yo hoy, desde aquí a miles de millas de distancia y a 12 horas de diferencia saludo y me quito el sombrero delante del señor Kobe Bryant.
