Esta historia la protagoniza el portero de un edificio de la East Side, el puertorriqueño Ronald Trinidad, quien es el dueño de ese pequeño tesoro. Pero, ¿cómo fue que lo consiguió?
"Siempre llevo conmigo una o dos pelota de beisbol y varios bolígrafos, porque mi hobby es coleccionar autógrafos, especialmente de peloteros" dijo para este blog. Y el doce de octubre del año pasado, ví a Alex y a su esposa que parecían pasear y ver las vitrinas de por aquí (de la East Side). Me acerqué a él primeramente, y le pregunté si quería darme su autógrafo. Aceptó gustoso, muy amable, por lo que me animé y me atreví a preguntarle también si ella podía firmarme. Los dos me complacieron. Firmaron entre sonrisas y comentarios muy amablemente.
"Después que la señora escribió su nombre, me dijo que le puso abajo "1/1" porque era la primera vez que alguien le pedía un autógrafo. Por eso sé que mi pelota es única en el mundo".
En Miami, Cynthia confirmó que ese ha sido el único autógrafo que le han pedido en su vida.
Ronald ha puesto en venta su pelota para donar el dinero a la campaña con el cancer de mama, el mal que mató a su mamá, quien luchó contra la enfermedad durante 12 años
Algunos expertos creen que la pelota podría venderse por mucho más dinero a través de una subasta, por lo que tratan de localizar a Ronald para advertirle que puede conseguir mejor beneficio para esa campaña.
