Yankees regresan a la Serie Mundial
El equipo con la más cuantiosa nómina en las Grandes Ligas lo consiguió el domingo con su primer campeonato de liga en seis años al vencer 5-2 a los Angelinos de Los Angeles en el sexto partido de la serie de campeonato de la Liga Americana, con un buen trabajo de Andy Pettitte en la lomita.

Ahora, Nueva York abre el miércoles el gran acontecimiento de
las mayores recibiendo a los Filis de Filadelfia, los campeones
defensores de la Serie Mundial. Está previsto que Cliff Lee
enfrente al as CC Sabathia de los Yanquis en un atractivo duelo de
lanzadores entre dos ex compañeros en Cleveland - y los dos
anteriores ganadores del Premio Cy Young en la Liga Americana.
Blanco de mofas en los anteriores fracasos de los Yanquis en
octubre, Rodríguez tuvo un participación sobresaliente en el avance
de su equipo a los playoffs mediante un promedio en bateo de .438
con cinco jonrones y 12 remolcadas.
El toletero logró su primer viaje a la Serie Mundial en sus 16
años de carrera, en la cual ha conseguido casi todo lo demás.

Mariano Rivera cerró el partido como acostumbra con un salvamento
en seis outs, al tiempo que los Yanquis ganaron su 40ma corona de
la Liga Americana al doblegar a los Angelinos, su pesadilla por
mucho tiempo.
Los Yanquis van por la marca de 27 títulos: Cuando el piloto Joe
Girardi fue contratado hace dos años, decidió llevar la camisola
con el número 27 teniendo eso en mente.
Vaya forma de Derek Jeter y el resto del equipo de terminar la
primera temporada en el terreno de juego de 1.500 millones de
dólares de los Yanquis.
