Amigo Yoyo...: Después de sus 18 innings de aquellas dos labores sin incogibles, el 11 y el 15 de julio 1938 con los Rojos, Vander Meer tiró tres entradas más sin permitir hits. Es decir, llegó a 21. Pero el record es de 23, y lo tiene desde 1904 Cy Young, con los Medias Rojas. ¿Que cómo fue?. Pues, tiró los tres últimos innings sin hits en el juego del 25 de abril. Agregó cinco en relevo el 30 (iban ocho), tiró juego perfecto el cinco de mayo (17), y siguió con los seis innings iniciales del 11 de mayo (23). En el séptimo de esa fecha le sonaron un sencillo. Este es otro de esos records que uno se pregunta, ¿pero bueno, y cómo van a hacer para superarlo? Bueno, está vigente hace 106 años.
