Estados Unidos se unió a México como segundo invitado a la Copa del Mundo de Sudáfrica 2010 por la Concacaf, al vencer como visitante 3-2 a su similar de Honduras y conservar el primer lugar del hexagonal con 19 puntos.

La selección de El Salvador de fútbol tendrá una difícil visita al estadio Azteca, en dónde se medirá frente a México y una derrota los eliminaría automáticamente del Mundial 2010.

El mediocampista mexicano Cuauhtémoc Blanco, considerado el mejor jugador nacional de los últimos años, asegura que quisiera jugar en Sudáfrica 2010, pero que nadie sabe que pueda pasar en el futuro.

"No lo sé. No sabemos qué pasará en el futuro. Al final de cuentas quien decide es Javier Aguirre. Yo quiero estar, y si llego será mi revancha. Pondré todo de mi parte, primero para calificar, y después veré si soy llamado", declaró Cuauhtémoc.

En un verdadero bombero se ha convertido Javier Aguirre con la selección mexicana de fútbol, luego del triunfo ante Honduras el equipo azteca está prácticamente clasificado al Mundial de Sudáfrica 2010.

Es la segunda ocasión en la que el 'Vasco' toma a un Tri desahuciado y en base a trabajo y sobre todo en motivación logra revivirlo y obtener un boleto a la justa mundialista.

En las eliminatorias para el mundial del 2002, México estaba casi eliminado del Hexagonal de CONCACAF; bajo el mando del 'Ojitos' Meza los aztecas habían perdido de visita con Estados Unidos y Honduras, además con Costa Rica en el mismo estadio Azteca.

En un partido muy sucio, el seleccionado mexicano logró un triunfo muy sufrido sobre Honduras, que lo ubica con un pie en el Mundial de Sudáfrica 2010.

Los catrachos fueron al estadio Azteca a buscar un empate y renunciaron por completo al ataque, siempre tratando de destruír el juego mexicano, que tuvo varias ocasiones de gol. Sin embargo, falló en la definición.

En un verdadero barril de pólvora, que en cualquier momento puede explotar, se ha convertido la selección de Costa Rica, luego que el médico del Saprissa Luis Fernando Chavarría declaró que Walter Centeno "nunca estuvo lesionado".

Centeno, el mejor jugador de los ticos, no jugó ante México el sábado pasado al sufrir un desgarro en la pierna derecha, sin embargo, el médico Chavarría declaró "que le realizó exámenes y asegura que no hay rastros de alguna lesión", como lo reportó la Federación de Fútbol de Costa Rica.


Con un gol y dos pases para anotación, Giovani dos Santos, le dio una victoria de oro a la selección mexicana sobre Costa Rica en el mismo estadio de Saprissa.

Cuando agonizaba la primera parte, Dos Santos marcó la primera anotación con un remate de pierna izquierda afuera del área de los Ticos.
