La parte más incómoda de aquel defectuoso remate era que siempre tenía que ir a buscar la pelota a distancias remotas. Alguna vez, incluso, recuerdo haberla tirado tan lejos al punto que después no supe como regresar a la cancha donde jugábamos. No obstante, fue un hecho positivo ya que funcionó como disparador de mi profesión de licenciado en Costumbres Humanas. Mi por entonces futura virtud comenzó a manifestarse a partir de las diferentes reacciones que generaba en mis compañeros de equipo mi shot de proporciones inverosímiles.
Me parece estupendo y refrescante que el público norteamericano pitara a David Beckham en su vuelta al LA Galaxy. Muy lejos de demostrar lealtad al club que ha hecho un gran esfuerzo por ficharle, el inglés no para de protestar y decir que quiere volver al Milan. Es benéfico que los fans del Galaxy demanden más compromiso por parte de sus jugadores. Ahora, la próxima vez, si quieren lealtad, que no fichen a mercenarios.El enojo de los fanáticos y el hartazgo del inglés ha subido de tono al grado de que este domingo hubo un episodio que estuvo a punto de terminar en una pelea. A pesar de todo el entusiasmo que creó el inglés en su llegada a Estados Unidos con toda la estrategia mercadológica que tiene detrás, quedó claro que sin argumentos deportivos no se puede vivir en calidad de ídolo. Dos años después de su llegada, la mentira del 'David Beckham crack' ha llegado a su fin.

La jugada merece observación por dos motivos: uno, por fin alguien ha puesto precio al centrocampista inglés –él mismo se pone el precio porque ningún club quiere pagar por él, es decir, por fin se ha visto lo poco que vale. Y segundo, la idea de irse del Real Madrid al Galaxy fue, como bien dijo el muy indiscreto Calderón, un movimiento para ser medio actor. Por fin vemos los colores reales del inglés.
