Messi no anda tan fino en la segunda vuelta de la Liga, comparado con la primera, donde deslumbró a propios y a extraños. Ha perdido chispa, pero no genialidad, y por eso es importante reservarlo para el encuentro ante el Chelsea en Londres, donde el Barça sí se juega el pase a la final de la Copa de Europa.

Yo no conozco a José Oquendo. Aparentemente el manager del equipo de béisbol de Puerto Rico es un tipo tranquilo, chévere y demás. Pero cuando se pierde de la manera en que lo hicieron anoche ante Estados Unidos, decir "Así es el béisbol" una y otra vez es otra muestra más del conformismo, del encogimiento de hombros, del "AY BENDITO" que destruye al deporte puertorriqueño.
Nos ata una relación política, consensual para la mayoría, controversial para muchos. Pero al menos en el plano deportivo, USA y Puerto Rico son dos cosas muy distintas.
Pero de ahí a ganar en Barcelona va un mundo Barça es un equipo sólido, con las piezas buen puestas, que sabe a lo que juega, y cómo juega. Sean los jugadores que sean, ellos saben qué función se le pide y parecen llevar los deberes hechos. El Madrid, en cambio, es un galimatías de individualidades que resuelven cuando pueden, ya que cada uno parece jugar a una cosa diferente –hasta que Casillas hace paradas milagrosas, o Raúl o Van Nistelrooy resuelven.

El entrenador del Real Madrid, Bernd Schuster, ha cambiado de estrategia: ha dejado sus palabras de enfado, su garra y malas maneras, para enfundirse bajo una capa, como si del lobito bueno se tratara. La última es decir que es imposible ir a ganar al Camp Nou el sábado. En vista del buen juego del Barcelona, no le cabe más que realizar un buen papel.
La estrategia es clara: hacerse la víctima para inspirar clemencia, para que el Barça se lo crea y salga confiado. Schuster, realmente, las tiene todas, o eso cree.
Más que en preocuparse del Barça, lo que tiene que hacer el alemán es pensar en cómo salvar su propia cabeza. El presidente, Ramón Calderón, dijo que mantendría a Schuster hasta final de temporada –salvo catástrofes. El juego del Real Madrid es catastrófico desde hace tiempo. A los resultados, ya les falta muy poco.
