En la prensa inglesa trascendió en los últimos días, que Beckham podría abandonar el profesionalismo al término del Mundial de Sudáfrica 2010.

La información fue publicada el pasado viernes por el diario sensacionalista "The Sun", que citaba a un amigo no identificado del futbolista como fuente para afirmar que Beckham dejará de ser profesional en julio.
La información fue dada por un integrante de la oficina de Beckham, quién declaró: "que no se ha tomado una decisión" en este sentido.
Ya en la parte final de su brillante carrera, David Beckham ha revelado que sufre de asma desde que era un niño. Según su representante Simon Oliveira, el volante inglés tiene este padecimiento respiratorio sin que afecte su rendimiento profesional.La confesión surge por imágenes tomadas al jugador utilizando un inhalador tras la final de la MLS que el Galaxy perdió ante Real Salt Lake el pasado domingo.
Greg Lalas, hermano del polémico Alexi, explicó en su columna en Sports Illustrated las razones por las que Landon Donovan podría jugar en uno de los grandes equipos de la liga mexicana, el América. El delantero estadounidense fue cuestionado al respecto y fiel a su costumbre fue frontal en su respuesta.
